I Love Mondays
I’ve been meaning to write about the joy of Mondays for a while, so here goes! It has always struck me as funny (as in odd) how much people gripe about Mondays. I get it: the social stereotype is that people view work as a drudgery and they spend much of their time watching the clock. I think that does a disservice to many people, who give their best to their job and might even *gasp* have a job they like. Just like you are supposed to complain about your spouse (“one of these days, Alice”), you are supposed to complain about your job. It’s not cool to like work. If you think about it, that’s just sad, considering how much time we spend — all of us — at work.
Well, I have a confession.I love Mondays!! I love booting up my computer, figuring out how to structure my day, organizing my desk. I love the peace the focus, and the kind of energy my weekends don’t typically have. I love the potential of Mondays; there’s no telling how much I might get done this week! It’s similar to the way I feel about most mornings: the days stretches ahead of me, with so much potential to have fun, get things done, make memories.
Anyone else out there feel this way? Don’t leave me hanging!!
